Our Story
We came to Galveston looking for a house.
We found something that felt more like a responsibility.
She had already lived a long life before we arrived, but her next chapter needed a name. We called her The Bayleigh Rose, after someone very special to us. It felt right for a house we had already come to love.
We bought her because we loved her. Then we started asking questions.
Who built her? Who lived here? What happened on this block before the streets looked the way they do today? Those questions led us through old maps, property records, newspaper archives and more than a few historical rabbit holes.
Somewhere along the way, learning her history became part of caring for her.
We don't want to remake an old house into something new. We want to preserve what makes her remarkable, understand the stories that came before us, and give her plenty of new ones.
Bayleigh is our home in Galveston, but a house like this is meant to be lived in. Bring the people you love. Fill the table. Stay too long in the pool. Sit on the porch after everyone else has gone to bed.
She had 150 years of stories before we arrived.
We're just taking care of the next chapter.
